Virtuaal.com is another web host that focuses very strongly on ‘secure’ overseas hosting, but we’ve yet to see anything on this site that actually comes close to promoting that.
Beyond the whole overseas push, this particular host doesn’t have much to offer but a very difficult to use layout and a whole lot of confusion extending to newbies online.
This means that you’re going to really struggle to get the big picture of this host from the very beginning, and obviously, it’s going to be very difficult for you to find your way around.
Some Background Info
You’d think that Virtuaal information wouldn’t be so hard to come by, but even if you dig through this site thoroughly, it’s just not something that’s posted up on here.
They don’t have a single ‘about us’ page in sight, which means that you’re going to go in not even knowing how long this site has been around in the first place. That’s no good.
Without a solid amount of information, you’re going to be spending money on an unproven host with a lot of loading issues and a whole lot of confusion layout problems.
For the extent of our Virtuaal guide, we found ourselves struggling to find anything positive to talk about. The problem with this particular web host is that there’s nothing.
It’s so bare bones.
With this host, you’re not going to find much of anything other than the very basics, such as cPanel and a few little one-click scripts that you can’t really modify.
There’s no site builder here, which is going to end up making it even more difficult for you to build and shape your own business. It doesn’t make for a good start up host.
Obviously, there’s an overseas part to this site that’s supposed to be standing out, but mostly it’s making it difficult to understand and use. This isn’t a very friendly site.
They don’t even talk about it.
When you have a stand-out feature like being based overseas, the host should at least take the time to play that up, but it’s not something that ever really happens here.
This means that you’re basically going to end up wasting a ton of time on a host that doesn’t understand to fix its lag or any of the other language barrier problems it has.
The idea of a budget sure is a good one, but this isn’t going to end up being a host that gives you that solid of an opportunity. Instead, you can kiss that kind of plan good bye.
It’s not good.
With this site, you can still expect to pay a total of $21.75 monthly even for their most basic plan, which isn’t going to end up giving you even the most basic features.
You’ll only get 512MB of disk space and only 2GB of bandwidth. Obviously, this is going to end up giving you limitations that you don’t need to end up dealing with for that price.
Security in General
Security is definitely lacking no matter how this is an overseas hosting site, and you should really see a whole lot more of that to back you and your upcoming business.
With overseas hosting, you’re supposed to be a marked increase in the kind of security that you’re getting, but that just doesn’t seem to be the case with this particular site.
That makes it very difficult to actually put this site to use, as you’re going to be constantly paranoid–and for good reason. There’s nothing all that safe about this host.
Speed That Doesn’t Work
Our Virtuaal review was already a disappointment, which was why we weren’t at all surprised when this extended into our speed tests as well. They only received a 3 out of 10.
It’s very slow.
After performing a standardized speed test, we found that this particular host took a total of 6.38 seconds to load up entirely, which was obviously incredibly slow.
This site also has uptime issues, and the final percentage of uptime that we found was only at 98.281%. This means that close to 2% of the time, your site will be down.
User Support You Can Skip
After reviewing our customer service experiences, we had no choice but to give this host only a 3 out of 10 on our rating scale. The service was really just that bad.
It takes forever.
While using this site, we found that it literally took close to 40 hours to actually get a response from customer service, which was really the most unacceptable. Seriously.
This site also just doesn’t tend to have the technical knowledge to back up anything that it is saying, which means that you’re going to be getting a bunch of bad answers.
